DR. ADAOBI ANYEJI

I am a Clinical Psychologist providing therapy and testing for individuals that seek to have a more fulfilling life. I assist those that have difficulty with chronic sadness, those that worry too often, those struggling with unsatisfying relationships, individuals who want to explore self actualization, those grappling with illness, those in the midst of grief, and those managing the intricacies of diversity.

Background

I earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the competitive Long Island University's Clinical Psychology Doctoral program in Brooklyn, NY. There I received training in psychodynamic therapy with specializations in Neuropsychology and School Psychology.

While completing my studies, I trained at South Beach Psychiatric Center: Heights Hill Outpatient center where I worked with adults with varied acute diagnoses in group and individual settings.  This experience complemented additional training at the prestigious Child Mind Institute administering Psycho-educational, Neuropsychological, and Developmental assessments to children, adolescents and young adults. Additional skills acquired at the Psychological Center of LIU working with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff allowed me to add depth to my psychodynamic and assessment training.  I have also had the immense pleasure of working as an adjunct professor of psychology at LIU, teaching General Psychology and Honors Psychology seminar.

These experiences served as a foundation for my APA accredited internship at Sharp Health Care Hospital, the largest behavioral health hospital in San Diego, CA. As an intern at Sharp Health Care Hospital, I developed effective Cognitive Behavioral skills by training in the Cognitive Intensive Outpatient Program rotation, the high security inpatient Adult rotation, and the Geriatric Outpatient rotation. I completed my post doctoral training at Psychiatric Centers of San Diego, where I remained for a period providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, parent management, facilitated a social skills group for latency age children with Autism, and provided Psychological, Neuropsychological, and Developmental assessments to children, adolescents and young adults.
